 The Fighting Nerds, a São Paulo-based mixed martial arts (MMA) academy, have rapidly ascended in the UFC, earning recognition for their strategic approach and impressive fight records.

Founders and Philosophy

Established in 2014 by Caio Borralho and his coach, Pablo Sucupira, the gym embraces its "nerd" identity, emphasizing intelligence and strategy in fighting.   • Caio Borralho: A founding member and middleweight contender, Borralho has been instrumental in the team's UFC success, maintaining an undefeated record of 7-0 in the organization. 

  • Carlos Prates: Competing in the welterweight division, Prates has achieved a 4-0 UFC record, with all victories coming by knockout. His striking prowess has quickly propelled him into the rankings, currently holding the #13 spot as of November 12, 2024. 

  • Jean Silva: This lightweight fighter boasts a 3-0 UFC record, demonstrating versatility by securing victories across both featherweight and lightweight divisions. His dynamic fighting style has garnered attention and performance bonuses.

In 2024, the team secured 12 UFC victories, 10 by knockout, and earned $400,000 in performance bonuses, underscoring their effective methodologies and the dedication of their fighters.  Their success led to being named 'Academy of the Year' at the World MMA Awards.
